How Billing Works

Once subscribed, you are billed according to your plan's billing cycle and usage. For details about your specific plan's billing system, visit our Pricing page on our website.

In general, plans can be billed monthly or annually. There are two parts to our plans...

Flat-Rate + Burst Usage

For Professional plans and above, you are billed a flat rate each month or year. This flat rate is based on the device hours included in your plan. Subscriptions that use flat rate pricing are also subject to burst usage.

When you have used up your device hours, your account will enter burst usage. This is when you are billed for any additional device hours used beyond your plan's limit. The burst rate is higher than the flat rate, so it is best to avoid burst usage by upgrading your plan or turning off devices when not in use.

You can view your device hours counter on the subscription page to keep track of your usage, as well as in the navbar.

Usage-Based Only

For the Explorer plan, you are billed for any device hours used. This is called usage-only as there is no flat rate.

What is a device hour?

A device hour is one hour of device usage while the device is not off. For example, if the device is on, paused, turning on, turning off, etc. then it is considered active and using device hours, for which you will be billed. If you only have off devices in your account, you will not be billed for any device hours.
