The Files tool is designed to make it easier for users to find and interact with files on the virtual device system. You can find it in the Files tab in the device screen. The Files tool enables the you to navigate the file system, as well as upload, download, delete, modify and search for files.

The file system is displayed in a standard hierarchy, reflecting the file system on the device. The Files tool displays the file or folder name, size, user ID (UID), group ID (GID), permissions (such as read or write), and date last modified.

To navigate back a folder level, click on the folder name at the top of the file list, or use your browser’s back button.

To search for a file, use the field with the magnifying glass icon at the top right of the file list, below the Upload button.

Clicking a file name will download that file. Currently, only one file can be downloaded at a time.

To delete or modify a file, use the ellipsis button ("...") on the far right of the file row. You can also select the file by clicking the checkbox on the far left of the desired file row, and then use the Modify button (the pencil icon) or the Delete button (the trashcan icon) that appears at the bottom of the screen. Selecting multiple files will enable you to delete or modify multiple files at once.

Modifying a file enables you to change the file or folder name, GID, UID, and Protection level:

Read-only directories

If the pen icon with a slash through it is displayed instead of the Upload button, you are in a directory that is not permitted to be modified.
